A while back, I asked the Lord a question. “Lord, what do you see when You look at me?” And He quickly asked me the question “Do you remember that day when you were dancing across your living room?” “That’s what I see when I look at you.”
My mind went back to that day. I was listening to a song by “Selah”. The name of the song is “You are my Hiding Place”. I had found that song and had listened to it over and over. It moved me so deeply. One day, while no one else was around, I put that song on and just let it move me. It was an expression of gratitude and love for my Savior. I didn’t hold back for fear of looking stupid or feeling ridiculous. I let myself go and just expressed through dance, all the gratitude and love that was in my heart at that moment.
It may sound funny and it may even sound ridiculous, but when you’ve walked through some hard things and when you’ve witnessed God’s mighty hand pulling you out of the pit, you have something to be thankful for. And sometimes, there are no words and all you can do is well…dance, jump, raise your hand, whatever mode of expression you can find to say Thank you! Thank you Father! Thank you Jesus!
So out of all the moments in my life, that God could choose to see when He looks at me - out of all the failures and mess-ups, He chooses to see me in that very moment…at my absolute best, where He is concerned. He chooses to see me at my very best.
That is how He looks at us. He’s not busy finding fault. He is looking at us through the lens of a life redeemed by His Son, Jesus Christ. He is looking at us with Love that only He could have. He is proud. He is happy. He is joyful over us. Did you know that there is a scripture in the Bible that says He sings over us? Zephania 3:17 says “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
It’s funny because I asked Google to bring up that verse for me…and so AI, Gemini on my Google Pixel, read this verse to me and then it went on to say this…”This verse is a beautiful expression of God’s love and joy for us. It tells us that God is not distant or indifferent, but deeply cares about us and delights in us. He is so happy with us that He sings over us!” And then Gemini goes onto say “This image of God singing over us can be a source of great comfort and encouragement. It reminds us that we are loved and cherished by God, and that His Presence is a source of strength and joy in our lives.” —-WOW!!! Even AI can’t help but acknowledge the Goodness of God! This Amazes me.
In 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 4-8, it speaks about what real, true & authentic love looks like - it says this “Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not envious, love does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It ALWAYS protects, ALWAYS trusts, ALWAYS hopes, ALWAYS perseveres. Love NEVER fails….”
This is the Love that the Father has for us. It’s different than the kind of love most of us are used to seeing. I certainly did not have an earthly father who rejoiced over me and definitely didn’t sing over me, lol. But my Heavenly Father, my true “Daddy” was doing all of that. And He is doing the same for you! He is seeing you at your best. He is rejoicing over you right now.
You may be thinking, but I’m not living a life that would make Him do any rejoicing or singing right now. Can I share something else with you? He sees what you can be. Before you ever came to be, He had already put a purpose on your life.
In Psalm 139 - it talks about this. I love this chapter. If you are struggling with identity- or if you’re asking yourself questions like “who am I?” or “Why am I here?” —- if you’re thinking you’re a mistake, or just an accident that happened…then, please look at this with me…
Psalm 139 says this… in verses 14 - 18…”I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your Book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You…”
I’ve said this before, but Purpose is in your DNA. He created you with purpose. It doesn’t matter how you got here. He got you here! I was what the world might call a “mistake”. I don’t know who my biological father is. I’ve never met him and I have no idea who he is. But that is no matter. Because my Heavenly Father had a plan already mapped out for me. He designed me with intention and with purpose, just like He did with every other person on this earth.
I just wanted to encourage you with this today. It was not my plan to type this out today, but this is where God has led me and if He led me to do it, that must mean someone needed to see it.
You are LOVED and CHERISHED by the ONE WHO CREATED YOU! HE - Yes HE - Created you. You are not an accident. You are not a side glance. YOU ARE HERE FOR A PURPOSE - A Beautiful Purpose that could have only come from a FATHER'S LOVE for YOU. Believe it and allow yourself to receive that today. Nothing is more true. He sent His son to die for you so that you could fully receive all of the beautiful things that He created you for. He has plans for you.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can have that gift and the peace that only He can bring. The steps are so simple. You can admit that you’re a sinner. We all are. Not one of us is beyond the need for His grace. We have all sinned. We’ve all fallen short. We continue to do so which is why we needed Jesus to die for us. To become our Perfect and Complete sacrifice. To become our atonement. God knew we needed that because it was impossible to have that on our own. So He sent His son.
We repent of our sins and ask God to forgive us. We ask Jesus to be the Lord of our lives. He comes in and changes our heart. He gives us a new heart and he raises us to new life with Him. Old things are gone. He remembers them no more. the Bible says all of this. I’m not making it up! lol. It’s all true. You can go from sinner to Daughter or Son of the King in just a few seconds. We don’t clean ourselves up first. We come to Him dirty - we come to Him broken. He fixes us and cleans those things up in His time and on His agenda. He’s patient with us. Remember, He sees us at our best - including what we can be. Because when He was creating us with purpose, He looked ahead and saw what His plan looked like through our life. He saw us redeemed and made whole through Jesus Christ, His Son.
So if you’re at that place and you realize you need Jesus in your life, there’s an invitation if you need one. If you want prayer, you are welcome to message me. I will be happy to pray with you, or for you. You are loved. Never forget that.
God Bless You & I hope you have and AMAZING Day! 🌷
